Glossary
- Hierarchy
- The order values actually fall into when two of them cannot both be honoured.
- Shadow value
- An unwritten rule that settles the matter when official values collide.
- Credibility gap
- The distance between the locked leadership guess and the measured hierarchy.
- Strength ratio
- How often one value beats another in direct choices. 51 per cent and 90 per cent are not the same thing.
- Breaking point
- The point where the hierarchy flips because pressure rises — time, money or visibility.
- Lens
- The angle a dilemma is asked from: what I do, what one ought to do, what most people do.
- Threshold
- The minimum number of responses before anything may be shown. Here, five.
- Circular triad
- A beats B, B beats C, C beats A. A sign that the hierarchy is unsettled in that area.
